The Aachen Grau 39 MB pairs the gray type B dial with a solid stainless steel bracelet and a compact 39 mm case. Steel and gray flow seamlessly into each other: an elegant pilot watch with a metal bracelet and automatic movement that never pushes itself into the foreground.
The detail that makes you look twice is the heat-blued hands. Depending on the light, they shimmer blue or appear almost black; at night they glow blue-green together with the numerals and markers.
The dial divides time like the historical observation watches: minutes outside, hours inside. The execution, by contrast, is entirely of the present. The ORIGINAL series faithfully recreates the watches of the 1940s, while the BASIC collection opts for a satin-finished case, a flat sapphire crystal and a bracelet with curved end links that sits flush against the case.
A contemporary pilot watch for slim and strong wrists alike, delivered in a gray zip case. Inside runs an automatic movement with hacking seconds; the Laco 31 caliber is available as an upgrade.
