Monochrome and compact: the Aachen Grau 39 combines the type B layout with a 39 mm case and a matte gray dial. It is the small gray pilot watch of the BASIC collection – an automatic watch whose understated color makes it a versatile companion.
Its secret lies in the heat-blued hands. They bring a subtle contrast to the gray, shimmering blue in the light and nearly black in the shade. By day the luminous material stays white and discreet, revealing its blue-green glow only in the dark.
The large minute track on the outside, the hour ring on the inside – the dial speaks the language of the historical observation watches. Yet while the ORIGINAL series reproduces these watches with a highly domed crystal and an onion crown, the BASIC translates them into a lighter, contemporary form with curved lugs and a flat sapphire crystal, available with anti-reflective coating on both sides on request.
The riveted gray leather strap is made for slimmer wrists and can be ordered with a folding clasp; the watch comes in a gray zip case.
