Small in size, big in presence: the Mülheim an der Ruhr is a historically faithful original pilot watch with a type A dial, a hand-wound movement and a 39 mm diameter. Large Arabic numerals and the triangle with two dots at 12 o'clock stay readable at a glance, even at this smaller scale.
If you have a slender wrist, finding an authentic observation watch (B-Uhr) is often a fruitless search. The Mülheim closes that gap without compromising on construction: barrel-shaped case, straight lugs, a closed press-fit case back with engraving and the dark sandblasted finish that once prevented reflections in the cockpit.
Of the five historic manufacturers, Laco is the only one worldwide that still builds the observation watch in this original form – and offers it in a size that suits today's wrists.
The hand-wound movement wants to be wound by hand every day. Heat-blued hands, luminous material and a domed sapphire crystal complete the historical picture, while the brown riveted calfskin strap rounds off the look.
